1/: Inspection shall be in accordance with MIL-P-15011 except MIL-STD-1916 shall be used in lieu of MIL-STD-105.
4.3.3 Moisture content of lead azide. The moisture content of the lead azide shall be
determined for each lot at the time of loading. A sample shall be selected from that quantity of
lead azide used in each production shift, and tested as specified in 4.3.3.1. A composite sample
shall not be used. If the moisture content is in excess of the percentage specified and loading has
not begun, the lot of lead azide shall be rejected until proper corrective action has been
accomplished as verified by performing the moisture content test specified in 4.3.3.1. If loading
has begun, action on the unloaded lead azide shall be as specified above and all components
loaded with the nonconforming lead azide shall be rejected.
4.3.3.1 Determination of moisture content of lead azide. The moisture content of the
lead azide shall be determined in accordance with Method 101.5 of MIL-STD-650, except that a
two-gram (gr.) sample shall be tested and the dish shall be covered with a sheet of
polytetrafluoroethylene.
