verified by perforation of a lead disc as described in 4.3.8. Verify that all caps have functioned
high-order.
4.3.9 Marking performance and durability. Verify by test that the ink meets performance
and durability criteria. Markings that do not meet the durability requirements of these tests shall
be considered non-conforming.
a. When A-A-59383 is being utilized, markings shall be tested in accordance
with the performance criteria of its respective specification. The performance
tests shall be conducted by applying the marking media either to actual parts
to be marked in production or test samples made out of the same materials and
prepared using the same methods as used for the end item.
b. When A-A-208 inks are utilized, objective evidence showing that the ink
meets all performance criteria shall be submitted. Additionally, "Resistance
to Rubbing" paragraph 5.4 and "Resistance to Water" paragraph 5.5 tests
contained within A-A-208 shall be completed and verified for conformance.
5. PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as
specified in the contract or order. When packaging of material is to be performed by DOD
personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain
requisite packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory
Control Point's packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within
the Military Department's System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the
managing Military Department's or Defense Agency's automated packaging files, CD-ROM
products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The M6 blasting cap is intended for detonating all past and current
fielded and developmental military explosives.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number and date of this specification.
b. Provisions for submission of first article samples.
c. Requirements for Ammunition Lot Numbering, if applicable.
d. Requirement for acceptance inspection equipment (AIE) designs.
e. Certificate of Conformance for each lot or shipment of product.
